The Cary-Grove Booster Club has a long-standing tradition of providing a safe, drug and alcohol free post prom activity for the students attending the Cary-Grove prom. This event consists of picking up the students from the prom location in chartered buses and heading down to Navy Pier for a midnight cruise on the Odyssey (or sister ship) along the shore of Lake Michigan. Parent volunteers chaperone the event which returns the students to the high school by 5:00 a.m. The event is extremely popular, with more than 800 students attending, and sells out every year. More importantly, it provides them with a safe way to continue the prom evening celebration.
Booster member Susie Leach, with a team of volunteers, works tirelessly to provide this spectacular event for promgoers. CG is the ONLY school in D155 that offers this to students. The post prom event cost about $50 in total to the student and the Boosters contribute $15,000 to help defer cost to students. In order to continue the post prom event every year, we look to the community for additional support.
Please contact the Boosters (Cat Barnes, Fundraising, via this link) if you are willing to sponsor any of the Post Prom activities or to volunteer (Susie Leach via this link).
